Dermal fillers for volume and support

As we grow older, production of the proteins that keep skin taut, volumised and supported slow down. This causes the skin to appear less full and lines appear as the skin loses tension.

Fillers reverse the worst effects of the protein loss by restoring volume and plumping the skin. The result is improved definition, smoothing of wrinkles and years taken off the appearance.

Types of dermal fillers

<highlight-peru>We offer a range of safe, gentle, and professional dermal filler treatments in Londons’s EC4.<highlight-peru>

Here at Mansion House Dental Practice in the City of London, we have selected some of the leading dermal filler products, which are proven to get incredible results. The procedure is relatively simple and fast enough to be carried out in a busy lunch hour, often with time to spare.

Lip augmentation

Lip augmentation – sometimes called lip enhancement – is a fast and relatively painless procedure for giving lips a natural bowed appearance. If you are conscious of your lip size, or would like to have more luscious volume, lip filler injections can provide beautiful results. With a small amount of filler, our experienced facial aesthetics dentist can restore lost curves and provide definition and volume.

Chin enhancement

The chin is an area that usually doesn’t get as much attention as the eyes or lips. However, chin fillers are a popular treatment here and are used to help enhance a weak chin, or to smooth out irregularities such as dimpling. The treatment is also known as a non-surgical chin augmentation. An injection of dermal filler is used to subtly reshape and remodel the chin for an enhanced facial profile, rejuvenating the appearance of the chin and lower face.

Cheek augmentation

As we age, the structures of our face change, not just the quality of our skin, but also the underlying support causing the face to shrink in some areas, becoming thinner and less elastic. Some people lose fullness or volume – droops or sags are common concerns. Replacing volume in the cheeks is therefore of high importance when rejuvenating the face and one of the advantages of cheek augmentation is that it lifts the entire face, improving the appearance of under eye bags and hollows too.

Nasolabial and marionette lines

Marionette lines are long vertical wrinkles from the corners of the lips to the chin. These lines can occur with age, smoking and genetics and can progress to form jowls. We can lift these corners with dermal filler, adding volume and anchoring the corners higher up.

The nasolabial fold is the crease running from either side of the nose down towards the corners of the mouth. These creases become more noticeable as part of the natural ageing process. Deep nasolabial folds can be corrected with dermal filler, restoring volume and softening the appearance of these creases, leaving a smoother, refreshed appearance.

Jaw line

Jaw line fillers can help both men and women create a contoured jawline. Dermal filler is used to fill in lines, add volume where it has been lost, creating a lifting effect, and camouflaging the look of jowls. This will result in the jawline area appearing both tighter and lifted.

Tear trough

Tear trough fillers are a non-surgical solution that can rejuvenate hollow or sunken eyes, providing a fresher, more youthful and healthier appearance.

I’ve been visiting Mansion House Dental Practice for a few years now and I’m very happy with the quality of care and service. Dr. Qassim is highly skilled and the customer service is great. In particular, if you’re looking for cosmetic procedures, I’d highly recommend this practice as Dr. Qassim has extensive experience in this field. And not to mention the location is also extremely convenient for anyone working / living in the city centre. I’ve had regular dental examinations, hygiene and whitening services etc and plan to continue visiting this practice in the future.

Your dermal fillers questions answered

Is there any aftercare advice?

Following lip filler treatment, you should avoid applying make-up for 24 hours to prevent bacterial infection of the injection sites. You will also be advised to apply ice or a cool pack on your lips to help reduce swelling and the application of Arnica cream can help to reduce bruising.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are safe provided you are in the correct, well-trained hands. A sound knowledge of facial anatomy is imperative when administering fillers - our dentists here at Mansion House are amongst the safest experts to provide these treatments.

How long does the treatment last?

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is naturally broken down by our body after some time. Therefore, often the duration for which fillers last varies slightly depending on your personal metabolism of hyaluronic acid. However, on average, treatment results remain for 6 to 9 months. The effects diminish gradually until your skin eventually returns back to the original appearance before treatment.

Does the treatment hurt?

Many people find their procedure at Mansion House Dental Practice more comfortable than expected, and most dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic. Our practitioners are highly skilled and precise; you should only feel a slight sting on your skin during the injection procedure.
